A:  Depending on the model year, your Silverado 1500 may be able to clear larger or smaller tires. However, the consensus is that stock-suspension-equipped trucks can fit around 31.5”–32.5" tall tires or 33” tall tires on a 2-inch leveling kit. Minor fender clearancing, often called “the NorCal mod,” is usually required to run tires wider than 11.5” or wheels with a low negative offset (-12mm or lower).  

Q: What is the Silverado 1500 bolt pattern and lug nut size?

A: The Silverado 1500 has had essentially the same 6-lug bolt pattern since 1999 (6×139.7mm). However, some variances exist, such as 8-lug 1500HD models. Lug thread pitch is typically M14x1.5. 

Q: Will aftermarket truck wheels or rims cause shaking on my Silverado 1500?

A: So long as the wheel is of good quality and properly balanced, no shaking should occur. It is worth noting that most Silverado 1500 wheels are hub-centric, meaning they’re centered by the hub rather than the lug nuts. As a result, wheels must feature a 78.1mm bore size.
