Gator SRX Vs. SR1 Tonneau Covers

In the search for a tonneau cover for your truck, there’s a good chance you’ll come across the Gator SRX and Gator SR1 Pro. While both of these covers are soft roll-ups manufactured by Gator, there are some small but important differences that set them apart from one another. In this article, we’ll detail the differences between the Gator SRX and Gator SR1 truck bed covers.

SRX

How it Opens

A single trigger latch on the driver side is used to open the cover.

Profile

This low-profile tonneau cover sits between your bed rails and approximately 3/4 of an inch above the bed.

Tension Adjustment

A block located on the driver's side is used to adjust tension on the vinyl. By changing the block’s position, you can add or relieve tension.

Clamping System

Standard Clamps are used to install the SRX tonneau cover.

SR1

How it Opens

Two latches (one on each side of the bed) must be released to open the cover.

Profile

The cover sits on top of your bed caps and approximately 1.5 inches above the bed.

Tension Adjustment

Automatic tension adjusters are located behind each of the latches. The tension does not have to be manually adjusted.

Clamping System

Large clamps are used to install the SR1. They are easy to bolt on, but they stick out a little more than the standard clamps.
