2007 Hyundai Veracruz Weight Distribution for Towing

Proper weight distribution is essential while towing, especially with heavy loads. Towing a balanced load is both safer and easier, allowing you more control behind the wheel and a more enjoyable towing experience. At RealTruck, we carry a wide assortment of weight-distributing products and accessories to level out your trailer and truck and even out your load!

Products to Distribute Weight while Towing

There are multiple means of improving weight distribution while towing. The most common method is leveling out your load, preventing excessive weight from sitting on the trailer’s tongue and, therefore, your vehicle’s hitch. There are several ways to accomplish said method, though some of the most popular include:

  • Airbags: Airbags are air-filled bladders located between the rear axle and chassis. When inflated, these bags help to raise the rear of your vehicle, thus leveling out it and the trailer.

  • Add-a-Leaf: Add-a-leaf systems employ an additional leaf spring mounted within your vehicle’s factory leaf pack. These accessories increase the spring rate of the rear leaf pack, increasing rear ride height and leveling out the load.

  • Suspension Systems: Suspension systems, like Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems and SuperSprings Solo SumoSprings, are air-free spring systems engineered to bolster load-leveling capabilities.

  • Weight Distribution Hitches: Weight distribution hitches utilize heavy-duty spring bars attached to the ball mount. These springs counteract tongue weight, reducing rear-end sag and improving towing performance.

Weight Distribution FAQ

Q: What is a weight distribution hitch and how does it work?

A: Weight distribution hitches are innovative ball-mount systems designed with heavy-duty spring bars, similar to torsion bars on IFS pickups. These spring bars are adjoined to your trailer’s tongue using adjustable chains, allowing you to “load up” the spring bars to attain more load-leveling assistance. With the spring bars engaged, tongue weight is essentially minimized, thus reducing rear-end sag.

Q: Does a weight-distribution hitch or suspension increase towing capacity?

A: No, this is a common misconception; however, it’s both illegal and dangerous to tow beyond your vehicle’s manufacturer-claimed towing capacity. Doing so can damage your vehicle and trailer and increase the likelihood of accident or injury.

Q: Is it safe to use airbags, add-a-leafs, suspension systems, and weight distribution hitches together, or should I only use one?

A: While you can, using additional products isn't necessary with a properly rated and set-up weight distribution system.

Q: How much weight can airbags hold?

A: Depending on the kit, airbags can provide anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000+ pounds of load-leveling assistance!
