Whether you're an avid truck-bed camper or live in a harsh, dusty, or rainy climate, you've likely noted the lack of sealing between your pickup's bed and tailgate. This region is highly subject to dust and water intrusion due to the lack of insulation, resulting in a spoiled camping trip or damaged cargo. Fortunately, TruXedo has the solution: the TruXseal Tailgate Seal!
This premium, self-adhesive bulb seal helps to lessen or eliminate gaps between your pickup's tailgate and bed, keeping moisture, dust, and extreme temperatures out! This product pairs best with camper shells, toppers, and tonneau covers, creating a dry, well-insulated cargo area.
Installing the TruXedo TruXseal Tailgate Seal couldn't be easier. Each seal comes with 3M automotive-grade, double-sided adhesive preinstalled on the backside. To install, simply prep the bed surface, cut the seal to size, peel off the adhesive backing, and press firmly to initiate a strong bond. TruXedo offers the TruXseal Tailgate Seal in your choice of a 200-foot roll or 8.5-foot single application.
TruXedo is a RealTruck brand. When you purchase the TruXseal Tailgate Seal or any other TruXedo product from us, you're ordering directly from the manufacturer. We back each TruXedo TruXseal Tailgate Seal with a limited warranty against manufacturing and material defects.
The TruXedo TruXseal Tailgate Seal features a simple peel-and-stick installation with the included 3M double-sided adhesive.
Note: TruXseal will always apply bulb-side-up to the horizontal area of the bed.
Items Required for Installation:
STEP 1: Clean the application area thoroughly with a mild soap and water solution. Wipe the area until completely dry. Use the included alcohol pads to remove all oil and grease from the application area. Allow the area to dry thoroughly.
STEP 2: Measure the distance from bedside to bedside along the bottom of your pickup's bed. Cut a piece of TruXseal to size, peel back the orange adhesive liner, and apply TruXseal to the bottom edge of the bed. Apply pressure to the seal by running your finger across the entire length. Close the tailgate to confirm that the bulb is compressing when closed.
STEP 3: Cut two shorter pieces of TruXseal the distance from the bed floor to the bed rail. Apply TruXseal to both sides using even pressure, ensuring a solid bond. Once more, close the tailgate to confirm that the bulb is compressing when closed.
STEP 4: Completely close the tailgate. Make small adjustments as necessary to ensure thorough sealing.
