The 1/2hp direct drive electric motor is linked directly to the auger, this provides more power to break up large chunks and for the unit to operate 75% more effectively than salt spreaders that use geared motors. All Blaster salt spreaders come with an in-cab, touch pad controller that is simple and easy to use. Meyer gives you the control you need to deliver a spread pattern that can range from 3 feet all the way up to an astonishing 40 feet! The hoppers are made out high density polyurethane, which is virtually unbreakable and will not crack in the cold. The frame is carbon steel with a protective black powder coat finish. The frame is designed to both protect the motor and act as a storage stand during the off season.
