Dual-Motor Retracting Step

PowerStep Xtreme Running Boards automatically deploy when the door opens and will retract after a 3 second delay when the door closes. Because they are made for extreme environments, they feature two motors per side for extreme performance.

Lower Deployed Step

AMP Research Xtreme PowerStep Running Boards drop much lower than other steps. Most stationary running boards rest 1-2 inches below the body and are often still too far from the ground to be convenient for many passengers.

Maximum Ground Clearance

The PowerStep Smart Series Running Boards tuck under the vehicle when retracted, providing amazing ground clearance while driving, and the functionality of a perfectly placed step when deployed.

Description

Love the convenience of power running boards but need some extra durability? Then consider the PowerStep™ XTreme Running Boards from AMP Research, which take everything you love about the original PowerStep™ and make it bigger, better, and more reliable for harsh environments!

AMP Research PowerStep™ Xtreme Running Boards are the toughest power running boards on the market powered by an OBD-II connection. Featuring a rigid, cast aluminum construction with stainless steel hinge pins and Dual-Motor design, the XTreme can withstand more abuse than other PowerStep™ variants, which have only one motor per side. The aluminum components are anodized before applying a military-grade PTFE coating, guarding the underlying aluminum against corrosion. Having two motors per side makes the XTreme the perfect option for those that frequent or live in geographical areas with extremely harsh climates.

The XTreme running boards also feature an extra-wide, non-slip, 6-inch wide step surface for maximum traction. AMP Research even includes bright, LED convenience lights that illuminate when the steps deploy, preventing slips and injuries from lack of visibility.

AMP Research PowerStep™ Xtreme Running Boards are vehicle-specific, ensuring a flawless fit and finish. Where applicable, newer models utilize a simple Plug-N-Play harness that connects directly to your vehicle's OBD-II port, significantly simplifying installation. AMP Research is a RealTruck® company, so when you order a pair of PowerStep™ XTreme running boards from us, you're ordering directly from the manufacturer. Like all PowerStep™ products, the PowerStep™ XTreme is backed with an industry-leading 5-year limited warranty.

Order Notes

Cleaning your PowerStep

In adverse conditions, debris such as mud, dirt, and salt may become trapped in the running board mechanism, possibly leading to unwanted noise, or binding.

Prepare for cleaning

Manually set the running boards to deploy: The running boards can be manually set in the deployed position by opening the door, and then place your foot on the step. Leave firm pressure with your foot on the step while you close the door. This will leave your steps in the deployed position.

How to maintain your steps:

Using a pressure washer to clean the front and rear linkages which are all 4 hinge points for your PowerSteps. Avoid spraying the motors directly.

After washing, apply silicone spray (dry Film lubricant) only, to all 4 linkage arms and all pivot pins, some of these pins will be located up high on the linkage arm as well. Then cycle the door to work the lubrication in to the hinge points.

Do not apply silicone, wax, or protectants like Armor All® to the running board. Do not lubricate with any greases, oils, WD-40, or penetrants.

This cleaning should be done periodically, or when debris such as mud, dirt or salt becomes trapped in the running board mechanism.

Installation

AMP Research PowerStep Xtreme Running Boards offer a straightforward installation; all hardware, bracketry, and vehicle-specific instructions are included.
