2020 Jeep Gladiator Gooseneck Hitches & Hitch Accessories

Gooseneck Hitches

Equip your pickup with a heavy-duty gooseneck hitch to tow your favorite horse trailers, livestock haulers, and flat-deck equipment trailers. These bed-mounted hitch systems are a popular option for oversized trailers as they bolster stability and maneuverability, placing the hitch ball directly over the rear axle instead of the very rear of your pickup.

There are many different Gooseneck Trailer Hitch styles. However, the most popular employs a pickup’s OEM puck system, which includes a hitch that mounts below the bed and countersunk holes on your bed floor for the hitch ball, and simple bolt-in systems that mount above the bed, sandwiching the bed floor between the frame supports and hitch.

Differences Between Gooseneck and 5th Wheel Hitches

Gooseneck and 5th wheel hitch systems are commonly mistaken for one another—however, aside from their location in the bed, they couldn’t be any more different.

Gooseneck hitches are used for agricultural and commercial purposes due to their simplicity and high weight ratings (up to 30,000 pounds). They feature a conventional hitch ball mounted in the bed that connects to a pole-shaped coupler descending from the trailer’s tongue. While this setup may look complicated, its operation is nearly identical to a conventional trailer hitch. And when the hitch ball is removed, you’re left with almost complete bed access.

5th wheel hitches, on the other hand, are typically reserved for large RVs. They don’t employ a ball and coupler system, unlike conventional and gooseneck hitches. Instead, they utilize a wheel-shaped plate to secure the trailer, similar to a semi-truck. Unlike gooseneck hitches, 5th-wheel hitches remain in the bed, taking up valuable cargo space.

Gooseneck Hitch Accessories

We also offer several Gooseneck Hitch Accessories, including adapters, extenders, and more.

  • Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Adapter: These adapters, like the Curt X5 Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Adapter, convert the gooseneck hitch in your pickup’s bed to conventional fifth-wheel rails, allowing you to mount a fifth-wheel hitch without complex or lengthy installations.

  • Hitch Extenders: Hitch extenders, like the B&W Hitch Extenders, help space the trailer away from your pickup’s cab, allowing full mobility without contact. They are traditionally used on short-bed pickups with minimal clearance.

  • Hitch Rail Kits: These mounting rails, like the Curt Double Lock & Quick Goose Gooseneck Hitch Rail Kits, allow you to prepare your pickup’s bed to accept a gooseneck hitch.

  • Hitch Plates: Hitch plates, like Curt Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Plates, connect to hitch rails, converting the rail system to an in-bed gooseneck to haul commercial and agricultural trailers.

  • Kingpin: Like the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck King Pin, Kingpin converts your gooseneck hitch to an in-bed kingpin to haul inverted 5th wheels.

  • Eyelet: Eyelets, like the B&W Turnover Hitch Eyelet, are used primarily on old oil field trailers with a tube instead of a gooseneck ball coupler—ideal for clevis hook-ups.

  • Coupler: Replace your gooseneck trailer’s factory coupler with a locking, adjustable, or shock-absorbing coupler, like the B&W Defender Locking Gooseneck Coupler.
