2007 Toyota Tundra Hitch Covers and Trailer Hitch Plugs

What Do Hitch Covers Do?

Hitch Covers are an inexpensive yet worthwhile investment for any pickup with a hitch, especially in corrosion-prone areas of the country! These stylish rubber, aluminum, or plastic covers slip into your pickup’s hitch receiver, preventing excess salt, road grime, and moisture from settling inside the receiver and promoting corrosion.

Hitch covers come in several stylish and practical designs, including brands, sports logos, and even auxiliary brake lights! They’re also ideal for dampening light impacts, such as miscalculations while parallel parking or backing into parking spaces.

Hitch Cover Types

There are two primary hitch cover types: hitch plugs, which insert into an empty hitch receiver, and hitch ball covers, which slip over a hitch ball that’s attached to a ball mount within a truck’s hitch receiver.

Both have unique benefits; for example, hitch plugs are best for those that don’t regularly tow. They’re also ideal for use in rust-prone areas, as they prevent corrosion within the hitch receiver that can make inserting and removing a ball mount next to impossible!

On the other hand, hitch ball covers are an excellent option for those that tow frequently and rarely remove the ball mount, as it protects the hitch ball from excess dirt, grime, and corrosion.
