Here at RealTruck, we're more than just a faceless retailer. We're a company of enthusiasts with a genuine love for all things automotive, namely, accessorizing. In the RealSource series RealRides, we take a deep dive into the cars and trucks that make our staff tick. Stay tuned for volume four of the series as we learn more about our staffer, Lindzy Jackson (better known as that_f150girl on Instagram), and her tricked-out 13th-gen Ford F-150.
Before we dive into Lindzy's story, we'd like to share a bit about the message behind this RealSource series. Most magazines and online resources love to push Readers Rides features, which give readers and consumers a chance to showcase the full scope of their vehicle's mods and accessories. However, few highlight the same for their employees, which is just as crucial.
Thus, RealRides was born. Not only do we want to give our staff the chance to showcase their modified rides, accessorized with the entire range of RealTruck parts, but we also want to allow our customers to see that RealTruck isn't just another soulless parts supplier. Instead, we're a community of automotive enthusiasts and gearheads that strive to ensure that every one of our customers receives the absolute best parts and equally high-quality customer service.
That being said, let's check out Lindzy's F-150!
First, let's get some background information from Lindzy. In this section, learn more about her employment with RealTruck, her passion for everything automotive, and more, starting with an introduction from Lindzy herself.
"My name is Lindzy, or some may know me as that_f150girl on social media, where I created a following for my truck. My social media has allowed me to post my truck and I's adventures together. I have worked at RealTruck for a little over 2 years now. I work for the Ecomm side of things, where I get to help assist our customers daily."
"My journey in the truck industry started at a young age. Growing up, I dreamed of having a truck, and now that dream is a reality. I was always fascinated by the power and versatility of trucks. I remember spending weekends at truck shows, soaking in the sights and sounds and dreaming of the day I'd have my own.
This industry isn't just a career for me. It's a passion that fuels my drive every single day. When I was younger, I gained experience working on trucks and other vehicles, which fueled my ingenuity and curiosity about how things work. I've dedicated countless hours to learning about the latest trends, technologies, and innovations in the truck world. Whether researching the newest performance parts or staying updated on the latest accessories, I'm always eager to expand my knowledge.
I've also taken my truck to various shows, gaining invaluable experience and connecting with fellow enthusiasts. Attending SEMA in 2023 was a highlight for me, as it allowed me to immerse myself in the latest industry advancements and meet some of the most passionate people in the field. This commitment has deepened my understanding of trucks and ignited a desire to share that knowledge with others. When you're passionate about something, it shows, and I want to inspire others to embrace their love for trucks just as I have.”
"My passion extends beyond my truck. I love helping others personalize their rides, too. Not only do I get to do that at RealTruck, but I also can help design custom wraps for people's rides. I also have my social media, which helps me showcase my ride and those of fellow enthusiasts. Social media allows us to show off what we are most proud of—the builds that stand behind us and the products that help bring those builds to life.
At RealTruck, I see an incredible opportunity to channel my passion into a fulfilling career alongside a team that shares my enthusiasm for the truck industry, and I'm excited to help customers create their dream trucks. I aim to be a trusted resource for fellow enthusiasts, guiding them through their customization journey to find the perfect products that enhance their experience.
What truly excites me about my future here is the chance to connect with other truck lovers and share my expertise because every truck has a story, and I want to help customers write theirs. With RealTruck's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, I'm confident we can foster a vibrant community where every truck is a unique expression of its owner. My love for trucks is more than just a hobby—it's a passion I'm eager to share, and I can't wait to see what the future holds."
Not only is Lindzy well-spoken—she's also a tasteful accessorizer. Her Ford F-150 boasts enough modifications to stand out in a sea of trucks, whether parked at a show or cruising through town. In this section, learn more about Lindzy's truck and what makes it a true expression of herself.
"From the moment I got my first truck, I felt a connection that went beyond the metal and wheels. It was a blank slate, waiting for my personal touch. Over the last few years, I've transformed my truck into a reflection of my personality, each modification telling a story of my journey and the experiences I've had along the way.
One of the most exciting aspects of truck ownership (or really any vehicle) is the endless possibilities for customization. I started with a Ready Lift 4.5 lift kit that improved my truck's handling and made it a beast on off-road trails. The thrill of conquering rugged landscapes with a vehicle that I've enhanced is unmatched.
I also took the time to give my truck a unique look with custom vinyl decals that I designed myself, which turn heads wherever I go. Adding the AVS Aeroskin Lightshield and the AVS Aerocab to the truck helps create some extra light, enhances the truck's rugged aesthetic, and helps to make this truck really stand out."
Lindzy's F-150 is far from stock, boasting modified suspension, graphics, lighting, and accessories. Read on to learn more about all the modifications she's installed over the years that transformed her F-150 from a stock truck to a RealTruck.
"So, the truck started as a stock 2020 Ford F-150, and over the years, I have added much love and customization to it. My first customization was a flag decal that I custom designed myself, which helped draw it from the crowd because nothing says freedom like a cool truck!"
"My first modification was a 4.5-in. ReadyLift that I had installed. My lift served the purpose of running bigger wheels and helped me cover more terrain and lift the truck for more clearance.
Of course, you can't run a lift kit and not get some new tires and wheels. I settled on the Fuel 20x10 Assault wheels and wrapped them in 35-inch-tall General Grabber A/TXs. Those wheels make this ride pop out of the crowd. And while we are at it, why not throw some Fox 2.0 Rear Performance Shocks? These shocks make the ride feel like a cloud over these Michigan potholes and any terrain I want to conquer."
"After that was completed, I decided to work on the cosmetic add-ons, like the AVS Aerocab Pro and the AVS Aeroskin Pro, which are the coolest touches to this truck. Not only do these lights add extra security to make sure other drivers on the road do not miss this truck, but they also make this truck look like one mean beast. I'm always getting asked about these AVS products.
To match the AVS Hood and Cab shield, I had to get the AVS In-Channel vent visors that let me crack the windows and allow the sweet smells of farmland and country air without letting any pesky rain in.
After these parts were installed, I started attending shows and wanted to get some Oracle Rock Lights to make this ride stand out when taking content videos or meeting other enthusiasts at shows."
"I started to use my truck more for camping, off-roading, fishing, and farming and wanted to keep things safe and dry in bed. I got the BAK Revolver X4s, which has been amazing and done what I needed. I can roll it up and out of the way when I am hauling things that need extra room in the bed.
Then, to make sure that all my tie-downs, rope, extra supplies, and knick-knacks that would roll around the cab floor were secure, I installed the UnderCover Swing Case toolboxes for the driver and passenger side, which keeps the bed neat and mess-free.”
“Over time, my OEM running boards started to look out of place, and I wanted a more rugged off-road look. I am a short girl and had a hard time getting in and out without steps. I wanted to try the Nerf Step style and went with the N-Fab EPYX Nerf Bars. Wow, what a difference. While assisting me in easily getting in the truck, they provided a rugged offroad look to the build.
Then, I added a Morimoto third brake light with a bright LED cargo light to help when camping and night fishing over the stock halogen bulbs. Other parts have also been installed, like the Husky Liners Weatherbeater floor liners and the Gator truck bed mat, which help keep my truck clean of mud from farms, dirt roads, and salty roads.
Little by little the truck is becoming this amazing picture in my head. I can picture it, maybe finally done sitting there, with its new aftermarket bumpers, and other parts. But who are we kidding? There is NEVER an end to a build!"
