Best Dodge and RAM Truck Commercials of All Time

Updated on Sep 24, 2025

There’s something about old commercials. It could have been 20 years since it aired, and the second we see it or hear the jingle, it takes us back. If these memories are strong enough for law firm commercials, how much more memorable is it for truck commercials on RealSource™?

We compiled a list of the best Dodge and RAM truck commercials. After all these years, these still hit just as hard as the trucks they once sold. Maybe it’s the grainy footage, the over-the-top macho tone, or the way a simple tagline like “That thing got a HEMI?” instantly takes you back to where you were when you first heard it. Dodge and RAM ads weren’t just selling trucks; they were selling a feeling, a moment in time. Let’s take a ride down memory lane and revisit some of the best commercials that made us want to work construction or become ranchers, or whatever other stereotypical truck things we saw in these commercials.

Best Dodge and RAM Truck Commercials

“That Thing Got a HEMI?” (2003)

This classic ad introduced a whole generation to the power and the iconic tagline, which has been associated with the HEMI engine ever since. With its goofy characters and simple, memorable tagline, "That thing got a HEMI?" became an instant catchphrase. Even today, it's hard not to smile when you hear it.

RAM Trucks Super Bowl Commercial – "So God Made a Farmer" (2013)

Narrated by Paul Harvey’s iconic voice, this powerful Super Bowl commercial celebrated American farmers and the hard work that drives the country. I don’t mean to be overly dramatic, but the imagery and message made it one of RAM’s most memorable and moving ads. Despite it being an ad to make people want to buy RAM Trucks, it still is pretty badass.

Super Bowl Glen Powell RAM Commercial (2024)

I know this one isn’t nostalgic, per se, but it is a great example of a future classic. Fresh off his “Top Gun: Maverick” fame, Glen Powell brought charm and swagger to the latest RAM truck campaign. It’s slick, funny, and shows how RAM is keeping its cool factor alive with a new generation. Even in a time when traditional TV commercials might feel outdated, Ram is still bringing the heat by making memorable commercials we will remember for years to come.

Dodge RAM "Dodge Ram Tough" (1981)

Oh yeah, baby! Here’s the good stuff. In the 1980s, Dodge leaned heavily into the idea of "Ram Tough." These ads often showed RAM trucks powering through mud, snow, and all manner of truck terrain. These ads set the tone for truck ads that still echo today. The voice. The style. It all screams, “Hey, if you’re a tough guy, you better buy a Ram truck.”

Dodge RAM "Guts. Glory. RAM." Campaign (2011)

With sweeping visuals and a bold voiceover from the number 1 truck VO guy ever, Sam Elliot, RAM’s “Guts. Glory. RAM.” campaign was all about doubling down on the toughness of RAM. This series solidified RAM’s identity after it spun off from Dodge, focusing on strength, durability, and being so American as to be nearly cartoonish. Ah, well. At least they’re fun.

Dodge Ram Redesign Launch Commercial (1994)

The 1994 RAM launch was a game-changer. This long-form promotional ad highlighted the bold new semi-truck-inspired look, bigger cab, and tougher stance, setting the tone for RAM’s dominance in the pickup world throughout the 90s and beyond. The ‘90s-ness here is so thick you could cut it and spread it on bread.

Dodge Ram 50 Pickup "Who said good looks can't take you anywhere?" (1987)

Another deeply nostalgic and very dated Ram commercial. This one is funny because it shows the other side of truck commercials. It isn’t directly telling Dodge Ram Buyers that their beards will grow an inch upon purchase, but it's showing a wider lifestyle play to appeal to how the truck looks, and less about performance.

Dodge Truck Vs. Chevy and Ford Commercial (1986)

I’m a sucker for the ol’ drop the truck out of the sky and watch its suspension bottom out. Everything about this ad is classic “before times” advertising. There are some exceptions, but brands rarely call out their competitors like this anymore. And, how about that five-year/50,000-mile warranty?

1994 Dodge Magnum V-10 RAM Truck Commercial

This old Dodge Ram commercial is pure ‘90s gold. It’s so serious, and it doesn’t waste a second telling you just how tough that V10 Magnum really is. There’s no fancy editing or overthinking here, just a commercial about raw power and a whole lot of attitude. Watching it now feels like dusting off an old VHS tape, back when truck ads were all about being bigger, badder, and louder than anything else on the road. I guess, they kind of still are.

1990s Dodge RAM Commercial - “Dodge Ram” sung to The Beach Boys’ "Barbara Ann" (Honorable Mention)

This '90s commercial featured a clever parody of the Beach Boys’ hit “Barbara Ann,” replacing the chorus with “Dodge Ram.” While a clip seems to have vanished from YouTube, it’s too classic not to mention for longtime fans who remember singing along.

Old Dodge Ram and RAM Truck Commercials Were Awesome

From silly, rugged throwbacks to heartfelt Super Bowl tributes, Dodge Ram and RAM truck commercials have always had a way of sticking with us. Whether it’s bro-ing out over a HEMI, the voice of Paul Harvey, or the swagger of Glen Powell, these ads celebrate everything that makes RAM a legend. Here's to many more commercials that we can look back on, 20 years from now, and laugh about how silly and out of touch we were. Long live RAM and old TV commercials.
